winrar crc error

:whistling: hi i am having serious problem with winrar every time itry to extract a file i keep getting message crc failed volume is corrupt. i have been using winrar for many years and never had any probs. but just lately this is happening all the time. i have tried uninstalling and installing newest version but no joy i have also tried using 7zip to extract which seemed to work but now having same prob with that . realy need to sort this out pdq. any advice plzzzzz.

at times when you unistall some tihng its advisable to run a cleaner that way it gets rid of any thing you might of left behind during you r uninstall.

as for it being corrupt its possible you may have unzip a bad file it may have had effect on your winrar so if you have any adaware scanners run them as well

Does this happen with all your .rar files, or just one in particular?

yes m8 all and i run spysweeper every day always clean avg scan also clear

And you have the most current version of WinRAR (3.51 stable or 3.60 beta)? Strange, this error is reported when the file you are extracting is bad.

yes i have 3.60 beta. got me beat as i said have used for years never any probs. the only obviouse changes i canthink of recently are ihave installed limewire pro with java and ihave upgraded spysweeper . use winrar a lot to unwrap d/ loaded files realy screwed.

movies music apps usualy torrents but from reliable source used for a long time only recently had prob..

im wodering if something has got on my system that is corrupting rar files but woul have thought regular scans i do would show something. everything else seems ok was hoping somebody else may have had this prob and could point me in right direction . do you think i shoul post a hijack log..

Not all spyware will be found by even the best antispyware apps.

If you want to be checked for malware, please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
