hey,

i was interested in upgrading my imac memory from 512mb to 1.5 gig, so i checked on the apple site and it said for 1 gig the cost was $200 and i just yesterday went to best buy and bought a 1 gig memory with the same specs, and tec data made by pny for $84

why is the apple price so much more compared to the pny, is it just becuase its made by apple??

the memory i bought has the same specs.

GB DDR 400 PC3200 DIMM

Apple have always overcharged for their hardware its how they make the money, they dont even make the ram i wouldnt be surprised if the stuff you bought used modules from teh same factory.

So you hit it on the head its cause its apple.
