Cannot Boot System

On startup I receive the following message. Previous attempt at booting this system failed at check point "time" it looked like but not sure if it is time . (I should state I am trying to help my son who lives in Scotland ,I am in the USA) The PC ran in the morning but refused to boot in the evening. The PC is a Dell Dimension 3000. Thank you in advance for anyhelp you can give

tell the son to attempt to get into the BIOS and make sure that the time is correct there....if not..have him fix the time...and see if the system boots...(if it was in fact the time)...if he can boot...tell him to turn the computer off and try to boot again...if the problem returns...have him go buy a CMOS battery from a computer store and replace it
