Hi, I keep getting the error:

Microsoft Visual C++ Library
Runtime Error! Program: C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE
abnormal program termination

that error message seems to pop up only when I am dealing with folders. Like closing, opening, or transferring files from folder to folder. i have to press OK and then my explorer shuts down ths making all my icons disappear!
i dont know how to fix this. does anyone have a solution?

here is my hijackthis log:

First, to address your problem...Did you have Microsoft Office on this machine ever, and remove it? Do you have a copy?

As to your log...a few peculiarities

question 1
Running processes:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\HFFSRV.EXE
This is used to hide files and folders from prying eyes....is this intentional?

If the answer to question 1 is no, then check the corresponding line hijack

question 2
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\GOGLGUT.EXE
I don't know this file, but don't care for it's location. It is not a windows required file. I would locate the file in explorer (my computer), and look at it's properties. If you cannot identify it, I would delete it.

check the following, and then have HIJACK fix the selections.

Don't forget the office question....why did you remove MS Antispy? I think that is most likely the cause of your errors, as I THINK it uses the MS C++ runtime libraries. Removing it may have cause system irregularities. The reason I asked about Office is I KNOW it does. Reinstalling office could solve your proble,
