Hi

i've been having trouble with my background image. i got a malware/spyware infection, which i have removed but now i can't change my background.

I tried looking in the web options of the display, but it wasnt selected. Also, when i am in the display option window. i can change the color (it is currently displayign the color i chose) but the box where you can select the image is frozen.

if anyone can help with this i would be grateful

regular jpeg. it used to be my background image but since i got the infection i cant put it back on. i know how to put images as background by right cliking or through the control panel but somehow i can't do that anymore

Unless you know the name of the file, you can click search, include hidden and system files, look for .jpg

When you find it, delete it if you can and want to download it again

that's not the problem....i can't put ANY picture in my background.

i don't have ANY background picture, windows won't let me put one. right now its just plain grey.

i used bitdefender virus scan as well as look2-me and prevx-1. it was a big infection.

the window pops up asking where i want it, it looks fine and then it doesnt work. still got a grey screen.

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow (with the space) and press enter

it asks me for the windows cd, which i dont have...

i get an error message when i turn on my computer, asking for the w153c935.dll file...could this be related?

Click start then run, type msconfig then press enter, click start up, click disable all, then replace the ticks for the firewall and antivirus only, click apply, reboot, tick do not start the configuration utility, when windows loads

See if you have the dll error
