no sound coming from speakers

my computer just got rebooted and when i go to play music no sound ocmes out and it comes up a message about sound devices or something on windows media player .. i dont know how to fix it ?

Click start, control panel, sounds and speech, sounds and audio

What is shown as the playback device on the audi and the voice tabs

Click start, right click my computer, click properties, hardware, device manager, click the + next to sound, video, are there any markings

nah theres not any markings .. and a dont have tht speaker u normally have on the bottom of ur screen n like normally wen it works it has 2 wee parts to it n theres just one .... also on tht thing u asked me to check in the audio speech thing its just a grey box so u cant like click it ?

how do a do tht like is there a disk coz ive looked everywhere cant see one ? or if theres a site do u know one i could do it

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on the right for multimedia / audio adapter

Post what it says please

its got multimedia and wen a click tht it has .. windows audio and PCI/PnP audio so what do i do next?

If you click the + next to computer then click summary, it should name it on the right

it was like it went to download because the wee green line was gouing along then it just stoped ? al reset my computer see what happens next ?

it was an sis .... audio device thing wen i click it it had an option to download it ? a tried tht but it said i needed a disk or what ever but i dont have a disk tht i know of ?

yes i done the 12 one and thats when it came up the disk part
