Hey

Ive got dial up and sometimes the connection just drops out and there is no communication between any applications.

So i disconnect it and then restart it.

What I find is that everytime this happens, it comes up (when shutting down) end program for "XP COM EVENT RECEIVER".

- Does anyone know what it is

- wat it does

- if whether its causing the problem

- and if it is, how can i fix it.

Thanks for your help!

two thoughts. have you updated your modem drivers? Preferably from the manufacture and not windwos update.

are you using firefox/mozilla? if so then update to the latest version and that should resolve the issue.

On firefox sometimes deleting an extension will solve the problem. This does not always work tho. heres a website on XPCOM.

you can go to tools, extensions, and then find updates and this will update any extensions that have updates available.
