My task bar disappeared after installing a new graphic card.
My Pc is a Dell Dimension 3000 with a onboard video chip.
Some games don't work well with the chip, so I thought to install a real card.
I choose the GeForce FX 5200 PCI with 256 MB.
After installing and rebooting the system was everything fine, except that the taskbar was gone. :whistling:
Somehow I managed to get into the control panel and tried to double click the taskbar icon,
but nothing happend. It works on other computers.

I switched back to the graphic chip, but the taskbar is still gone.

What can I do to get the taskbar back, without installing win XP again.

On every other of my computers, yes. :whistling:
But not on the one with the missing task bar.
If I go to the control panel and double click the task bar icon, nothing will happen.

Maybe I said it wrong or to complicated.

There is nothing on the bottom. No taskbar, no Start, nothing. The mouse arrow is not changing its
apperance. Important icon's which I always use, are stored on my desktop (since I work with computers) - that saved me.
Icons like:
Windows explorer
Control panel
Notepad
and more - all because off fast access.
That's now my only way to browse thru my folders or several popped up windows.

To shut down = taskmanager, or change windows because another window popped up = taskmanager.

If I go to the control panel and double click the "taskbar and start menue" icon = nothing. This icon is just a dummy.
