I have a HP 1310 printer I'm trying to setup and the software has been installed, but when I try to add a printer it says print spooler not running. What does this mean???

That error means that the Printer Spooler Service (a service that first loads files you want to be printed into the memory) is not turned on.

Please go to Start | Run and type services.msc. Then, find Printer Spooler Service and start it (right-click | start) and change the startup type to Automatic. If it is already started, stop it and start it again.
