if you use IE, you can disable all ActiveX functions like this:

1. In IE, click on 'Tools' -- 'internet Options'

2. Click the 'Security' tab

3. Highlight the 'Internet' icon (should already be highlighted)

4. Click 'Custom level'

5. Now set all the 'ActiveX' sections to 'disable'. (there are 6 sections starting at the top).

Alternatively, you could use another web browser like firefox which doesn't support ActiveX
