Hello there!

I am trying to put a database on a webpage I am designing. However, to do what I want to do, it requires more than HTML. A fiend suggested I learn and use PHP.

Well, that sounded great, I check out a massive PHP book and was ready to go. But, I ran into difficulty downloading the PWS required to host the web page.

After some investigating, I have conflicting reports on whether XP home can run a web server(for design purposes only). Most people say no, while a few say that you can run Apache instead of PWS. I tried apache but I was unable to get the PHP test program to work.

So my question is this: Can XP home edition run a webserver? Which one? And what are my options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
