I want to quickly transfer data from my desktop to my new laptop (both running Windows XP).

Can I use a cable that has a USB connector (used by my digital camera) or do I need some special cable.

Also, do I need any special software?

How do I do this?

If you want to network them easily, use a USB Crossover cable. You can also burn CDs or copy your desktop hard disk to an external hard disk.
