Spacecowboy is very good... :whistling:

I use WAP and it seems to be very effective.

If you get a chance, check the jumpers on the cd-rom drive and see if it's set to master or slave. No rush...as long as the machine is running properly, we'll just keep plugging away at the pause issue... :blink:

:help: I had a look at the back of the CD-ROM it is set up like this. if I stand at the back of it on my left is three sockets the first two are empty the third has three pins the first one has the jumper the other two are empty and there are two larger sockets the first has the ribbon in it and next socket has the power cable that's what you wanted does this help let me know. Sounds like it's set to cable select. Try moving the jumper to the far right pins...these should be the master settings. The drive IS connected to the end connector on the cable, right?

:help: I have moved the jumper from left to right and just above on the right it has the letters m,a so this where I plugged the jumper in. so is there anything else that i can do.Thanks again
