HI wannabe1Let's see if we can install it using Windows.

Hi wannabe1Let's try the software that came with the drive...again.
Put the disk in the drive and let it start. Click the floppy disk icon on the right side...I'm hoping that will start the diagnostics for HDD.
Let me know what happens...we don't want it to mess with your current drive.
Hi wannabe1Could we make this multiple guess? What options are available...
Hi wannabe1I don't see anything there I'd want to look at. Try restarting the machine with the disk in the drive. Make sure that it only works on the new Hitachi drive if it boots to an installation utility...if in doubt, ask.
Hi wannabe1Do you have a floppy drive?
Download and create this Diagnostic Disk.
1. Download the bootable version of the DFT setup program (dft32_v408_b00.EXE) and save it to your desktop.
2. Click Start, then select Run.
3. Click the Browse button to locate dft32_v408_b00.EXE.
4. Click on dft32_v408_b00.EXE, then click "Open".
5. Click "OK" to run the setup program.
6. Insert a formatted 1.44 MB diskette when prompted.
Hi wannabe1Restart the machine with the floppy in the drive and see if the Hitachi software finds the new drive.
