<_< Computer was extremely slow(used alot) so I reformatted. It's still slow to start, can't open some basics like Real player and unable to play some games. I'm obviously missing some important downloads. Which I also have probs with. I went to update and once they are downloaded and I restart, it's as if I never updated at all. It shows I still need to update. Should I reformat again?

Did you get any errors as you reinstalled Windows?

Also, many viruses are able to survive a format, either an fdisk to remove and recreate the primary partition or a low-level format may be required to completely remove them.
