I used ntbackup to backup my mail servers information store.

I now am trying to restore the data to an offsite server (different than original) and I am unsuccessful so far in doing it. The restore runs for 1 second than fails and tells me to check event viewer. When I check event viewer I only see even id 8019 that tells me to check the restore log, which the restore log tells me to check event viewer. and event id 8003 with says End Restore to \servername\First storage group failed.

Verify: Off
Consult the backup log for more detail.

Either way the backup log and event viewer are unhelpful. I also made sure that in exhange manager I enabled the databases to be restored over.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

The links were good, but didnt get me anywhere.

Yes the rest of the server is good, all part of AD and all that. I have installed Exchange 2003 with the /disasterrecovery switch then reinstalled over it to make sure it was good. Now the ntbackup just wont restore the information store and i cant find anywhere that i can find out why.

Thanks
