Hi everybody. I have a really strange problem with my Pioneer 110-D. I'll try to explian the best I can, cause my english is not pretty good.

I can burn in all typs of DVD and CDs: Sony, Samsung, Verbatim, etc.

My problem is when reading some DVD marks, My DVD-RW can't read Verbatim and Sony DVDs, but it reads Samsung. And it also can read all marks of CDs.

So, for example, I can burn a Verbatim DVD, the data verification it's ok, and when I try to read it, it's impossible. So I have to use another DVD-RW that fortunately I have.

If I burn a Samsung DVD, I can then read it.

The DVDs are burned perfectly, without any problems.

When I bought it, there wasn't this problem, it worked perfectly reading all DVD marks.

I hope someone here can help me.

Thanx.

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. Have you tried cleaning the optical lens? You can get a cleaning disk, which is a cd with small brushes on it that will clean the lens.

Hi, I clean my laser with the CD you said. First I clean it, and then I was able to see the content of the DVDs. But then after 10 minutes, I couldn't again. :whistling:

Every time I clean the lens, inmediatly I can read any DVD but after a couple of minutes I have the same problem again.

Is there another way to clean the lens? Thanx.

Yes, I have read on the internet about cleaing the lens with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Do a google search on "cleaning the optical lens" and you will find lots of hits, including the cotton swab method. The only potential problem would be that you have to remove the drive, and open it up the to do it, and put it back together without causing any other damage. It can be done, just be careful.
