It takes like a full minute to open a 25 KB picture. I didn't have this problem before I formatted and reinstalled Windows XP Home.

I have found that if your indexing service is disabled it does take a lot longer to display the thumbnails. Check in your services to see if it is enabled. Some people say with indexing service turned on the computer is slower but i cant seem to see any speed difference on my computers.

Just something to check.
