DirectX problems in windows server 2003

I am using windows server 2003 and have installed all the updates. The only problem being directx is not being installed. I downloaded and installed directx but it is not being installed because whenever i run a game like warcraft which only requires directX 8.1 or higher it does not run. Plz tell me what i should do to install directx . Help me out with this unique problem. i am also posting the Dxdiag.
