Hey Guru's,

My Compaq Presario R3000 has a built in Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN card, but starting about a month ago it stopped recognizing wireless networks. Even if my laptop is sitting on top of a wi-fi transmitter it still shows "No wireless networks were found in range". :whistling:

I've run the repair utility, checked the device manager and rolled back and re updated the driver, but I still get the "Wireless Network Connection is Not connected" message.

P.S. I haven't used my laptop's wi-fi for about six months, because of a bad power inverter in my screen. It seemed like a fairly easy fix so I did the repair myself. Could I have possibly damaged something?

Do you have any suggestions?

I haven't heard back from you in a couple of days. Are you still trying to figure my problem out or should I just get a new laptop?

that's because you're typing the ipconfig command in the run box...you need to do start > run > cmd > THEN whatever ipconfig command you're running

Try these help pages from HP:
PC No Longer Connects to the Wireless Network
Troubleshooting Wireless Local Area Network Connections

BTW, you've to have SP2 installed before you try these steps.
