Hi, eklind51,
Welcome :whistling:
Yes, you can fix those items that you asked about, as well as a few others.

We need to disable your Microsoft Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

* Open Microsoft Windows Defender. Click Start, Programs, Windows Defender
* Click on Tools, General Settings
* Under Real-time protection options, unselect the Turn on real-time protection check box
* Click Save

After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

Please go to Start > Run > Type the folloiwng command:

sc stop BOONTY
sc config BOONTY start= disabled

Please launch HijackThis and place a checkmark next to the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
O16 - DPF: RaptisoftGameLoader - http://miniclip.com/...tgameloader.cab
O16 - DPF: {288C5F13-7E52-4ADA-A32E-F5BF9D125F99} - http://miniclip.com/...pGameLoader.dll
O16 - DPF: {3A7FE611-1994-4EF1-A09F-99456752289D} (WildTangent Active Launcher) - http://zone.msn.com/...iveLauncher.cab
O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} - http://www.popcap.co...aploader_v6.cab
O23 - Service: Boonty Games - BOONTY - C:\Program Files\Common Files\BOONTY Shared\Service\Boonty.exe

Close all windows and click "Fix Checked".

Delete the specified folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\BOONTY Shared

Reboot.

Open Hijackthis again.
Click on Config, then Misc Tools. Press the "Delete an NT Service" button.
When it opens you should then enter the service name which is: BOONTY
Press OK.
It should pull up information about the service, then ask if you want to reboot. Click YES.

If you have not already done so please download Ad-Aware SE Personal and install it. If you already have Ad-Aware SE, please configure it as indicated below. If you have a previous version of Ad-Aware, please uninstall your current version and install the newest version SE 1.06.
1) Run Ad-Aware, and click Check for updates now.
2) Select Configurations (click the Gear wheel at the top) as follows:
  • General Button > Safety & Settings: Check (Green) all three.
  • Tweak Button > Cleaning Engine > UNcheck "Always try to unload modules before deletion".
Click Proceed.
3) To start the scan, Click > "Scan Now" at left
  • Deselect "Search for negligible risk entries" as negligible risk entries (MRU's) are not considered to be a threat.
  • Select "Search for low-risk threats"
  • Select "Perform full system scan"
  • Click Next
4) When the scan has completed, select Next.
  • In the Scanning Results window, select the "Critical Objects" tab.
  • Right-click on the screen and choose "Select all objects"
  • In the "Scan Summary" tab, check the box next to each additional "target family" you wish to remove.
  • Click Next to remove the objects selected, and click OK to the prompt.
  • Restart the computer.
Download and scan each user profile with CCleaner
Select the BASIC version.
http://www.ccleaner....nloadbuilds.asp
1. Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
2. Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
o Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer".
o Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section.
o Clean all entries in the "System" section.
o Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section.
o Clean any others that you choose.

In the Applications Tab:
o Clean all Firefox/Mozilla section if you use it.
o Clean all in the Opera section if you use it.
o Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section.
o Clean any others that you choose.

3. Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
4. A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
5. Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
6. Click "exit" when done.
REBOOT.

Please post a fresh HijackThis log and let me know how things are running. Thanks.

thanks for the welcome.

when i go back to hijackthis and click delete an nt service and enter BOONTY it says......service 'boonty' was not found in the registry. make sure you enter the short name of the service, vbExclamation. what do i do? i did all the stuff listed before delete an nt service.

also can i remove the wheel of fortune, zone, and yahoo ones? or if i go back to play those games they will just reappear?

also i have ad-ware but will do those tweaks. and i will download ccleaner.

You can place a checkmark next to whichever games are listed as 016 in HijackThis. When you return to those websites you will be asked to reinstall those downloaded programs again.

Any other games that are in your Program Files will have to be uninstalled using Add/Remove Programs.

After you post your log, we will see what else needs to be done. :whistling:

Your log appears to be clean.

This one is a button for RealPlayer:
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

The button may not be there. If you do not use it, disable Defender temporarily (as you did above). Then launch Hijackthis and place a checkmark next to that. Close all windows except HijackThis and click "Fix Checked".
Close HJT, and reboot.

Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components:

1. Close any open programs you may have running, especially your web
browser
2. Click Start > Control Panel
* Depending on your OS or configuration, you may have to click Start
> Settings > Control Panel
3. Open Add or Remove Programs
* If you have Windows 98 or Windows 2000, open Add/Remove
Programs
4. Click once on any item listing Java Runtime Environment in the name
* Not every version of Java will begin with "Java" so be sure to read
each entry in the list
5. Click the Remove or Change/Remove button
6. Follow steps 4 and 5 as many times as necessary to remove all
versions of Java. ** If at any time during the uninstallations, you are asked to reboot, do so. Then return to Add/Remove and continue removing any other versions of Java until all components of Java have been removed.
7. Delete the Java folder in Program Files.
8. Proceed with reinstalling Java. You will need to use Internet Explorer for this.
Go to http://www.java.com/...load/manual.jsp and click the link to download the Windows (Offline Installation) package: Save it, do not run it.

When the download is complete, close the browser and install it.

That should have you in good shape.

Here is my standard list of simple steps that you can take to reduce the chance of infection in the future.

You may have already taken some of these steps:
1. Visit Windows Update:
Make sure that you have all the Critical Updates recommended for your operating system and IE. The first defense against infection is a properly patched OS.
Windows Update: http://v4.windowsupd.../en/default.asp

2. Adjust your security settings for ActiveX:
Go to Internet Options/Security/Internet, press 'default level', then OK.
Now press "Custom Level."
In the ActiveX section, set the first two options ("Download signed and unsigned ActiveX controls) to 'prompt', and 'Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe" to 'disable'.

3. Download and install the following free programs:
a. SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html
Tutorial here: http://www.bleepingc...tutorial49.html
b. SpywareGuard: http://www.javacools...ywareguard.html
Tutorial here: http://www.bleepingc...tutorial50.html
Periodically check for updates in both programs..

4. Please use a firewall and realtime anti-virus. Keep your antivirus software and firewall software up to date.
Note: If you are not using an anti-virus, you can download AVG a free anti-virus program, from here: http://free.grisoft....2/lng/us/tpl/v5
Before installing it, however, be sure that the remnants of all prior anti-virus software have been removed.
If you need support for AVG, their forum is located here: http://forum.grisoft.cz/freeforum/
Zone Alarm Firewall (Zone Labs has a free version for home users.) http://www.zonelabs....p...n&lid=ho_za
http://www.zonelabs....lid=dbtopnav_za

Sunbelt Kerio has a free version: http://www.kerio.com/kpf_download.html

5 You might consider installing Mozilla Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.com/

6. You may also want to consider installing either or both of AdAware (free version) and Spybot S&D (freeware). Use these programs to regularly scan your system for and remove many forms of spyware/malware.

a. Ad-aware: http://www.lavasoft....ftware/adaware/

b.SpyBot S&D: http://safer-network...2005-05-31.html
http://www.majorgeek...wnload2471.html
http://security.koll...n&page=download
I would check for updates in SpyBot once a week or so.
Check for updates in Ad-aware frequently.

If you have recently installed ewido, it is a free trial product for 30 days. After that you can purchase it for full features OR you can also keep the free version to use as an on-demand scanner (recommended).
You will still be able to manually update Ewido using the *update* button

7. Before using or purchasing any Spyware/Malware protection/removal program, always check the Rogue/Suspect Spyware List. It will save you a lot of grief, as well as money if you are thinking of purchasing. Here is the link: http://www.spywarewa...nti-spyware.htm
If you want to know just how effective your anti-spyware program is, or how well any of the "rogue" programs listed at the above link work, check this for an independent comparison of several anti-spyware programs: http://www.spywarewa...-test-guide.htm

8. If you have not already done so, you might want to install CCleaner and run it in each user's profile: http://www.ccleaner.com/
** Uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar.

9. Make sure you are using the most updated version of Java.
To verify your Java version go here:
http://www.java.com/...d/installed.jsp
: If you need to update, remove all prior versions using Add/Remove Programs, and delete the Java folder in Program Files. You can go here to download the latest version: http://www.java.com/...load/manual.jsp
Click the link to download the Windows (Offline Installation) package: Save it, do not run it. When the download is complete, close the browser.
Proceed with reinstalling Java. Reboot.

10. If you use Adobe Reader it may need to be updated to be sure that you have a more secure version. If you are using a version prior to v. 6.05, you should update to 6.05, preferably version 7.08. It would be best to remove prior versions before updating to a new version.
