Ok, then don't do what I said :D. This sounds like a job for admin. I'll notify him of your problem. <_<

<_< Thanks.

Sorry to sound like a whiner or complainer. I'm just tired of this problem and frustrated.

Hi Mattie and welcome to Geeks to Go! <_<

I've read through your posts, and Nathan has done a very good job of eliminating any spyware/malware threat from your system.

It sounds to me as though you're getting data corruption on your hard drive. Have you checked the hard drive for errors? (Click My Computer, right click your hard drive icon, select Properties, select the tools tab.)

Have you recently added any hardware to your system?

Data corruption can also be caused by a virus/trojan, what antivirus programs have you tried?

Finally, this may be the first signs of a failing hard drive.

I'd recommend you do a repair installation of XP, but I'm not sure that option is available with your OEM version. Usually, is called a non-destructive recovery, or you maybe you can even get to the Windows setup progam. If so, here's a guide:

I've used PandaScan, Symantic and Norton AV. All came up negative.

The last hardware I added was months ago, long before this problem occured. I installed my Memorex DVD drive and a new video card. No problem with either.

I'll try to check the hard disk. Then TRY to figure out how to do a repair installation...since I don't have a cd.

Thanks...I'll let you know somthing tomorrow. I need to call it a night here.
