Hi there! I recently installed winxp pro, and of course installed some codecs to play videos on windows media player... I thought that divx codecs were enough to play all videos, but i had some mpeg videos that i could not play, then i installed ffdshow - i could play all videos but all them appeared with less quality they had (i have seen before these videos). Therefore i unistalled ffdshow and managed to get another codecs, to be precisely elecard mpeg-2 decoder&streaming pack, and now i can see every movie, but this is not the problem (i was just describing what happened if it helps).

The Problem:

Well it's not a big deal, but it's a bit strange and annoying that when i play some .avi video files, appears a green line at the bottom of the screen and that isn't supposed to happen, lol. Could it be some codecs issue? Does anyone can help me figure this out? :S

Best Regards, Marco.

I will attach 2 images that I captured on WMP; however as you see that green bar appears not in the same location (I've noticed this right now). In one image it appears in the black zone (Maradona's image), the other is at the bottom of the frame.

Note: I've searched google for help, I saw somewhere that it could be some source problem (bad converting or smtg like that) - although in the previous windows I had installed I could see it with no problems.

Best Regards, Marco.

nevermind, I finally got rid of that annoying green bar - For all of those who had this problem: install xvid codec ( http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ )

PS: I thought that xvid and divx codecs were the same thing, that was extremely noob of me.. :S
