internet explorer error

when i try to go to some sites on the internet i get an internet explorer error: internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvience.

please help me. it has been like this for a while and i havent found any answers.

anyone? please. i need help.

it has something to do with playing streaming video and i think streaming audio. i dont know what is wrong. ive tried everything

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, right click any file then click delete, confirm delete

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc defragmenter

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter, you need the XP CD and Windows File Protection will show a blue onscreen progress bar, when the bar goes, reboot

when i try to run sfc /scannow it flashes a black box/window

nope didnt work this time either. i mean it showed the bar and everything but the streaming music and video dont work and i get the same wininet.dll error

its not an invalid page fault error though and i dont use auto complete. is there anything else?
