Prob with video files

I have trouble opening video files from my dvd. If i manage to play them it plays for a few seconds and then jerks. I have tried the dvd on my laptop and it works fine over there. At first i thought i might have got infected from something so i did the virus/spware/malware scans.. then i thought it could be coz of my low space.. i freed up some space and have abt 7 gb of free space on my c drive. It dooesnt seem to be a drive problem coz i can play normal dvds on my pc but juz can open video files. Hope someone can help me with this.
