Hi, while browsing the internet last night my computer became infected with what seems like a lot of spyware and/or viruses. A small flashing cross appeared on my taskbar, and a baloon telling me that windows is now installing anti spyware software for my comuter. Before I knew it a new program had appeared, and my dektop had lost its picture to be replaced by grey.
After panicing for a while I decided to download some anti spyware software. Google directed me to "STOPZILLA". I downloaded, installed and ran the software. Sure enough, it found 52 instances of spyware. I promptly disinfected.
The problem I have is that I have disinfected, but I still cannot change my desktop to a picture. Does this mean I'm still infected? Has the infection destroyed my windows installation? How do I fix this???
If anyone can help I would be eternally greatfull.
Many thanks.
Ed.
