Hi guys,

My brother has been online probably unknowingly clicking on things that download, uh, stuff? Anyway, my computer/internet seems to be working slower and pop-up ads have resurfaced after not having to deal with any for a while.

I suspect there is some bad stuff in my computer now..

Do you think you can check my HiJack This log?

I appreciate it if you could <_<

Please watch your language. This is a friendly forum. <_<

As for your problem, start off by uninstalling "Internet Optimizer" and "BroadJump" (and/or "Motive") from the control panel. Next, reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu) and remove the following files:

c:\program files\support.com\ <-- This folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ycsuenpt.exe <-- This file (randomly-named malware)

Then, please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8F4E5661-F99E-4B3E-8D85-0EA71C0748E4} - C:\WINDOWS\wsem217.dll

O4 - Global Startup: Digital Line Detect.lnk = ?

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log.

Thanks for replying and sorry about the language.

In my add/delete programs, I can't find Internet Optimizer in the list. I might've deleted a folder like that in my Program Files before though. I think that problem might be gone, because I used to get a page with Internet Optimizer every time I went to like a mispelled URL, but now it doesn't appear anymore.
And for BroadJump, it says I can't delete it because it is used by my SBC Connection Manager..

With regard to deleting files in safe mode, I am a little confused about what to do. I select Start Windows XP Home Edition after choosing safe mode and it brings me to the User screen......when/where/how do I delete the specified files? <_<
Sorry I'm so unfamiliar with that.

But I did get to fixing the items in HiJackThis, here's the newest log:

1. When you get to the welcome screen, just click on "Owner"

2. A system restore dialog box will pop-up, choose "Yes"

2. Go to "My Computer"

3. Then click on "C:"

4. Then go through the folders to find the files I told you to and delete them (be sure to empty the recycle bin before restarting).

Also add the following to the "delete list":

C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\ <-- This folder

Alrighty, I finally did get to deleting those in safe mode. :D
(Except for Internet Optimizer, couldn't find it, even thru running a few searches)
