cd rom & dvd rom missing

hi guys i have no cd or dvd rom drive in my comp or device manager i looked in bios & it cant detect them they have totaly gone can anyone help pleez thanks :whistling:

If it's not detected by Windows as well as in the BIOS, I think you chould check the Drives' power and data connectors.

hi again they are both connected the doors open & close on both so the power is there

So that leaves us with the data connectors. Are they plugged in properly?

Be sure to check that the Data connectors are correctly connected to the Motherboard.

its been untouched from new its now 2 years old could they have come loose?

I'm having the same problem. The light comes on, door opens, you can hear the drive read, but nothing happens. It doesn't show up in device manager, but when I look in bios boot order, it says cd rom / uninstalled.
Somebody please help us out here. I've checked my cables as well. :)
