Yesterday I started reciving errors with Generic Host Process for Win32 Services frequently. Once I do, I'm still shown to have an active connection, but I cannot browse the web, and gaming servers time out and then boot me. However, I can still use instant messages. I also cannot re/disconnect. Rebooting temporarily fixes the problem.

Hi DirePenguin...

Would you mind checking to see if you have Windows Update 918899 installed and, if so, when was it installed?

(Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs >tick "show updates"...should be near the bottom of the listed updates)

No, I don't have that update installed. I do have SP2 however. I think.

EDIT: Apparently I can continue to use the internet normally for about 3-5 minutes after recieving this error before I experiance problems.

Yes, I have an HP printer. I have not installed any drivers for it, or used it yet.

Couple of things to try

Click start then run, type services.msc then press enter, double click the Windows Image Acquisition service, stop the service, set the start up type to disabled, click set, apply, reboot

And / or

I tried disabling Windows Image Acquisition service but the problem still persists. I don't think installing printer software for a device I've never used will help. I don't even know where my CD is by now, the printer is nearly 5 years old.
