Hello rosierox and welcome

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free...mitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log back here for me please.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Looks like you did a good job cleaning it up

Lets have a look at an UNinstall list
  • Start HijackThis
  • Click on the Config button
  • Click on the Misc Tools button
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
  • You can click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad into this topic please,

Lets see what Active scan show us

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Click on start, then control panel, and then double-click on add/remove programs. From within add/remove program uninstall the following if they exist by double-clicking on the following entries:

Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2 <--outdated version of Jave you have the updated version on your system
Logitech Desktop Messenger <-- Unless you really love this program its a known resoucre hog
LimeWire 4.10.9 <-- P2P programs are a breading ground for infections I highly recommend you remove it, not only do most of them come bundled with malware but the idea of file sharing is not a safe practice as you never know what your downloading onto your system

Not bad,

some of those are items that you took care of using System Mechanic Professional
I m not sure how you can remove what it fixed I m not fimilar with the program

Lets clean up what we can here,

Copy the contents of the Quote Box below to Notepad.
Name the file as fix.reg
Change the Save as Type to All Files
and Save it on the desktop

REGEDIT4

[-hkey_classes_root\clsid\{9AFB8248-617F-460d-9366-D71CDEDA3179}]

Make sure there are NO blank lines before REGEDIT4
Make sure there IS one blank line at the end of the file.

Then double-click on the fix.reg file, and when it prompts to merge say yes,

No worries just minor clean up left to do, and I need my beauty sleep sometimes :whistling:

Again I don't know how to remove what System Mechanic Professiona has quaratined, There must be a function that you can clear out the quaratiined items from it

Next
  • Download Pocket Killbox from. Here
  • Paste the full file path c:\windows\downloaded program files\f3initialsetup1.0.0.15.inf in the box and click on Delete on Reboot.
  • Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now?"
  • Click "Yes"
  • Let the system reboot
Let us know how you make out
You can run Active scan again if you wish but the only thing it will find now is the stuff in quaeating unless you removed them,

Let me know how the computer is running now

Good morning Don77,, and thank you, I did the last step but i haven't ran the scan again, as it just takes so long, that will be the first thing I do when I get home from work. I also went into my system mechanic anti virus and deleted the quaranteened items, so hopefully that will rid them off the scan later.

I do have 2 questions now... firstly, all the icons I've added for the various fixing downloads, should I keep them? the entire programs or just remove the desktop icons? I didn't want to delete anything that I should keep.

second,, so far the computer did load pretty slow this morning, but I haven't been on long enough yet to see if the one problem still persists, which was a message I get while on the computer that a little box pops up at bottom of taskbar with a yellow triangle with exclamation point that says : Win Virtual Memory Minimum to Low, your system is low on virtual memory. Windows is increasing the size of your virtual memory paging file. during this process memory requests for some applications may be denied. for more info see help."

That is what was happening after the bravesentry did it's damage, I've never seen that before and once that box opened my windows just started closing. I went to the "help" and to be honest... i have no idea what it wants me to do, I'm just not knowledgeable enough or brave enough to adjust things in there.

Alas,, as I type this,, the box just appeared....... *sigh* any suggestions?

thank you,, as usual......

one last note,,, even though i had that little popup earlier, i managed to stay on the comptuer for an hour and a half this morning and nothing shut down!!! the message vanished, and so far i'm good. i think you did it!!!! it booted real slow but once i was on, no troubles at all, other than the message,, so if there is anyway to adjust it to make it be ok, i'd do that, just scared to on my own.

you guys are the best,,, i'd bake you cookies but guess you'll have to settle for a big virtual hug and kisses!!!!

thank you very, very much,,,, your help is appreciated more than you'll ever know!

Killbox you can delete, You should hang onto ATF and use it to clean out your temp folders,
you should hang onto Ewido but disable the gaurd its probably whats causing the slow start up post back a fresh HJT log and we will see if there are any other start ups we can disable to speed it up a bit for you ,
