hey guys i always have a msg on my taskbar that says:

windows-system error

"there is an ip address conflict with another system on the network"

Then my internet disconnects!!!. I am on a linksys router, and i don't know how to fix this!!!!

how many other computer's are connected to the router?
do you know the ip address of the router?
did you set up a static ip on the computer or did you let it get one via dhcp?
on the pc do start > run > cmd > ipconfig /all and post the results

hmmm....that doesn't make sense... those are different as is the router...is there anything else attached to this network? at all...like a network printer or something like that

there's an off chance that the modem itself is using the ip of 1.1...but...that wouldn't make the message pop up on YOUR computer...

it's possible....if there were a wireless network going on in your home..neither computers are showing as being connected wirelessly so i'm gonna assume you don't have a wireless network setup

all i know is sometimes my dad using wireless on his laptop while hes downstairs or something but HE RARELY USES IT most of the time he goes close to the router and uses a direct lan cable...either than that there is nothing else =/
