anyone know how to fix this problem...
the FOLDER OPTIONS in Contol Panel just disappeared.
i also tried using the folder options button in windows explorer and nothing happened.
anyone know how to fix it?

Something similar to this happened to me when I was goofing around with the security templates before I knew what I was doing. Were you by chance doing anything with the security settings?

man, you have to come back sooner than this....I had no idea where I was going with that question for a couple minutes....

Start > Run, type
gpedit.msc


The group policy console will appear....look under USER CONFIGURATION > ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES > WINDOWS COMPONENTS > WINDOWS EXPLORER

Double click

Removes the Folder Options menu in the left pane

Change it to enabled, reboot, go to the above, change it to disabled
reboot.

Does it work now?

it still does not work.
i may have uninstalled or deleted the folder options without knowing i did. and as far as i know, i didnt mess up with the security settings.

I was facing same problem. I read this disscussion.

After reading above, i tried this
Run - > gpedit.msc - > User Configuration - > Administrative Templates -> Windows Components - > Windows Explorer

State of "Removes the folder optiions menu item from the Tools menu " was "Not Configured". I make it disabled. After that i check the Tools menu, Folder Options was now available there. I again change the state as "Not Configured".

Folder Options are now available in the tools menu.
