Bought a new acre travelmate 3010 2 months ago. Started it up and no windows platform. acer logo, etc shows, function buttons work, but no windows. anyone hear of this problem before? :whistling:

It did have windows before? if there isnt any OS splash or start it could be the HDD knocked loose or damaged. Sounds like an HD problem, if you want to check the rest of the laptop works get a linux live CD and as long as your CD drive works itll boot up a working linux OS and that way you can use it get and check everything else is working but sounds like the HDD is the problem youll need to check the warranty wether you need to send the whole laptop to acer or just the defective component.
