Ok I work with excel alot doing scanning barcodes on cell phones. And a lot of the time we get a shipment in & we scan the codes directly off the master carton. The problem lies with the fact that sometimes the cell phone companies duplicate a number on different boxes.

Which leads me to my question: Is there a way in which I can use Excel to alert me if I have a duplicate code? Or do I have to use a different program?

Thanx.

I found code for a macro (a small program that executes commands) here that you could try out. It colors the duplicates in red.

I also found this which contains a formula that you could copy for each row that says whether or not the value is unique.
