Yes I'm needing to know how to make a boot disk,6.2 version.

And I would like to know how to get windows 3.1.And how to install it, from putting it on floppy, to getting it on-to the computer.

Thanks for any help.....

directdeals.com use to have 3.1 for sale but I just checked and right now they don't. You might try e-bay.... Not sure of the legality of that.... I think it has to be a sealed package to be legal.

If you look under DOS in Ebay you can buy both DOS 6.2 and Windows 3.1 for around $7-10 each + shipping. I do not know why you want to bother when Linux is setup to run on newer hardware and you can get a linux OS that runs from a single floppy. I have the original floppy disks for both of these and i also have a compaq pentium 150 computer that runs Win 3.1 with the calmira interface. I am now finding it much easier to use linux than the old win3.1. Years ago i started collecting old software so i have quite a collection of the win 3.1/95 software. I remember installing Adobe Photoshop 3.0 on a computer and found that Paint Shop Pro 5 was much better.

All these Linux distributions are ISO files that you download and burn to a CD using Nero of other GOOD burning software. They are FREE live CD's that do not have to be installed on the computer to run. They can be installed if you wish.

These are all Live CD's. Burn and try them all. You may find one that will replace windows entirely. There are also many other distro's that are not live CD's but are very good OS's in themselves. Suse10 and Mandriva come to mind here. Fedora also, which is by Redhat. So many choices - so little time, SIGH!!
