Hi, How many recorder drives can windows xp pro recognise?

I have XP Pro SP2, and a pioneer dvr-109 multi dvd recorder, and a Aopen com 5232/aahpro cd writer drive, they have been installed and running just fine for ages, but when i select properties for each drive, then the recording tab, i can only select one of them to 'enable cd recording on this drive', when i enable one, and hit apply, the other drive's 'tick' gets removed?
Any ideas?

Oh, i am and have been using Nero 6.6 ultra, and Any DVD software for ages too.
thanks, Dave.
