PC was "shop built" about 2 years ago. THe Sony DVD-ROM DDU1621 works well.
The Yamaha CRW 2100E has never been used until now. OS is Windows 2000(SP4)
Processor is AMD Athlon XP2000+. Using Roxio Easy CD & DVD creator 6. When the PC is turned on, both operating lights go green. THE DVD-Rom light stays green; the CD-R light goes to orange. PC will ask to insert a disk but will not recognize when one is inserted nor will it copy or burn anything. Would appreciate any suggestions. Gene Z.

To those who may have read the above, I was able to contact Yamaha computer/electronics people. The bottom line here is that the orange light indicates that there is problem within the CD burner itself. Yamaha has stopped
manufacturing these components as of 2003. Gene Z.
