help. my computer always requires disk check and does so only until 81%. it hangs with these last words:

The\pagefile.sys entry contains a nonvalid link. the size of the \pagefile.sys entry is not valid.
The size of the\Documents and settings\user\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\901LZ9H3\32966418546708s[1].jpg entry is not valid.
\Documents and settings\user\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\901LZ9H3\32966418546708s[1].jpg is cross-linked on allocation unit 895023

i've already Cleaned my Cache and Cookies in IE and other Temporary files + Recycle bin.

also, i'm always reminded with low virtual memory. and programs hang after a while.

Please help. thank you very much.
