I have been using Solidworks 2005 on my computer for a few months now. I'll e honest, it is not a legal copy, a friend of mine from work gave me a copy and it worked fine. I cannot afford to pay for the software but am required to use it for my position.

Recently after I open Solidworks I get an error messesge "A problem was encountered accessing the proper security device. The device may be missing or have invalid information. The application will be terminated immediately."

I tried reinstalling the software getting the same error. I did a goolge search of the error messege and I got info on how to solve the same problem in the 2006 version, something about a dongle and the spdappu.dll file needing to be patched, I couldn't find any patches online though.

Is there any way you can help me, I desperately need to use this program, I have to finish a project soon and I am away from the lab for a few weeks.

We do not assist people who are not running legal copies of all programs/software, etc. This topic is closed.
