I messed something up

I did something wrong on my computer one time, now almost all the appilcations on my computer will open with the Notepad ( it's odd ok). I don't know how to fix this :whistling: . I can't do a system restore and I don't want to reboot my computer.
So can some one help me?

go to my computer from start

right click open on c:drive right click go to properties...then tools check now put check mark in both boxes click start ........this will take awhile it goes through five stages be patient

I found something I couldn't delete, so
what I did was I right clicked it, went to open with.... , then picked notepad. It disapeared unfortunatly this also made every thing open with notepad. Except important things like IE .

could be malware related perhaps you should put a post in the malware forumand when they clear you and your problem still the same ill look into this while your being looked at

i used note pad ... word pad and other programs but it never stayed that way for me

go to your control panel and open folder options

under general restore defaults click ok under view restore defaults click ok try that

go to control panel then folder then file types click new type . EXE click advance do the same on drop menu


click ok then try

THANK YOU IT WORKS NOW I just clicked restore though
I CAN NOW PLAY MAPLE STORY AGAIN LOL.
