Hi Caffiene_Powered

Lets hit them again

Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
Select:
  • Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\Documents and Settings\user\install.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temp\b103.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xeymi.dll

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.

Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Post the log from killbox and a new Hijackthis log.

Problem-

I clicked delete on reboot, and all files, but only one file is being copied and pasted in

I highlighted and copied and pasted all of them but only
C:\Documents and Settings\user\install.exe
is going in

should I delete them one at a time?

You have to use the Paste from Clipboard. option. If this is not working then yes delete them one at a time.

Hi

Please reopen killbox and delete the file below using them same procedure as before.

C:\dfndrff_12.exe

If all goes well your log is clean.

We have a couple of last steps to perform and then you're all set.

First, let's reset your hidden/system files and folders. System files are hidden for a reason and we don't want to have them openly available and susceptible to accidental deletion.
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading UNSELECT Show hidden files and folders.
* CHECK the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.
Next, let's clean your restore points and set a new one:

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Restart your computer.

3. Turn ON System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
[/list]System Restore will now be active again.

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
  • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
  • SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
  • IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.
You should also have a good firewall. Here are 2 free ones available for personal use:and a good antivirus (these are also free for personal use):It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visitmonthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scannersweekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

You may want to consider replacing mcafee if it is out of date, the above free alternatives are very good Antivirus programs. Don't forget to run ATFCleaner regulary.

thank you very very much
you've been a big help

Installed some of the programs, most of them I've had expierence with because they either were or are on
my personal computer...

I did one extra thing though, after restarting I turned System Restore back on (because I was told to do this in the past when I had malware infected restore points)

one more thing you think I could post a log of my computer just to make sure there was no virus transfered (as rare as it might sound) never hurts to be catious (spelling)

Hi Caffiene_Powered

Looks good to me, just a little house cleaning and you'll be fine.

Re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Looks good to me, just a little house cleaning and you'll be fine.

Re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Andy :whistling:
