Thank you for your response.

The tests specified in the malware removal guide and several more from Microsoft’s knowledge base and Symantec have been done, with the only malware identified coming from the scan with the Ewido program (log below). I did have one problem being unable to find one sub-key identified by Symantec as one to check for a possible subseven problem. The other two keys Symantec suggested looked all right. Please see key in question below: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Runservices; Runservices is missing. Do you know if Runservices should be there and/or is relevant? This computer is kept up to date and has never had a known virus problem in its four year life, a couple of corrupted or missing files though. Do you know if the number referenced in the runtime error message (OX15b38ae) can be associated with a particular program or location? Also, is it possible to tell if system restore memory is full and if so, can part of that memory be deleted (without deleting the entire memory) should that be a problem? Restore is still acting the same way, appears to be working and then very near the finish, it cuts off and the message “restoration incomplete” comes on. Any suggestions are appreciated.
