The game ran fine but when I tried to uninstall it just now I got these error messages:

Install Shield Wizard
Setup has experienced an error
Please do one of the following:
-Close any running programs
-Empty your temporary folder
-Check your internet connection (Internet based Setup)
Then try setup again
Error code-5001


I have an HP Pavillion a1310n
With XP media center edition
ATI Radeon xpress 200
AMD Athlon 64

Yeah I already tried that, even though it had to do with his game play not uninstall. That guy wasnt able to play the game cause he was missing a dx9 .dll file but our game played fine, we just cant uninstall it...
But anyways I still have the same problem...

I searched a bunch of posts but no one has really ever seemed to solve the uninstall problem

I was hoping I could find some help here...

Hi Kate, I had the same problem. Just reinstall the game. Don't let it autorun, right click the icon for the cd/dvd drive, select explore and doubleclick setup.exe. It should then install properly, allowing for a faultless uninstall when you next try. Worked for me

I have the Exact problem, But i really screwed up. Ya see i Actaully Deleted the Bathesda softwork file with all my Oblivion Information in it. And emptyed the recicle been. I have a msg like this.

I Deleted EVERYTHING related to Oblivion, Even my Added Stuff like Knights Of The Nine.
But, I screwed up downloading an Oblivion mod, And i deleted it without thinking, When i should have jest unninstald it. Now its screwed up, Id also like to know how to fix this problem.

I have the same problem. Initially I deleted everything related to Oblivion because of mod issues, but I left it all in the recycle bin. I realized I could not uninstall the game, so I restored everything. Now I can play the game just fine, but it still will not uninstall and the reinstall step that somebody else mentioned earlier is not working. It really SHOULD be able to uninstall now, but it can't. Anyone have any ideas? (I attached the two warnings as pics).

I have the same problem kind off because it says to run the setup.exe but wen i explore the files on the oblivion cd the only file that it there is the autorun file and there is no setup.exe,maybe i deleted it acidentaly but can someone plz help me i want to uninstall oblivion for the 4gig in it.

I'm having the same problem....but how do you re-install? people on the above posts are saying thats the solution. I put in the disk put all i get is the window to start playing. no way to re-install.

use : http://www.revouninstaller.com/ its free and it can unistall even if you deleted the game files already !
