Hi,

I live in Japan, and have purchased a wireless pc data card from one of the mobile operators here (KDDI-au). Their card`s advertised (best effort) speed is 2.4mps, which is about 8 times faster than their competitors (Docomo, Vodafone @ 364kbps). It is well known here that KDDI-au`s data card is indeed much faster than their competitor`s.

However, i notice in Windows, under Dial-up Connections/Properties the fastes possible setting for the data speed is only around 921kbps.

Also, i compared the speeds of my au card against a Vodafone card by browsing the internet, sending emails etc, and the speeds seem the same.

Is there any way i can increase this maximum data speed (in windows under dial up connections) up to at least the 2.4mps, so that I know the card isnt being held back at all.

Many thanks in advance,

burton.
