It was now stuck in a "Reboot Loop". A new hard drive would only be seen by the bios in "Cable Select" mode. The original hard drive wasn't seen at all no matter what the jumper setting. All memory was detected and the DVD burner worked fine. I tried reinstalling the Win 2000 OS and it always stopped at "Corrupt DMIO.SYS file. Installation failed." I tried switching the RAM around......nothing.
After trying everything I knew of, I sent it out to be tested. It was DOUBLE TROUBLE ! Both a Bad set of EIDE controllers AND a Bad Memory Controller. I can't mention the Brand Name but let me say, It Wasn't So Great.

And why can't you mention the brand name? I do, frequently. You won't be sued for libel. You are simply stating the truth, which you know to be the truth because it happened to you. You are an individual, not a corporate empire bent on destroying your rivals.

'Naming and shaming' is not a criminal offence provided you stick to the truth -- and it could help others in making a buying decision.
