Hi. Thanks for this supporting site :tazz:

Go to my problem... :)

I start x application (mostly games or browsing on a couple of internet explorer windows) and CPU usage jump up to 100%. The fans start working overtime, they become really noisy.
Then, every couple of minutes everything freezes for around 15 seconds... unfreezes, I keep on playing/browsing, and then, after a couple of minutes it freezes again, over and over...

About 2 years ago, my fan was broken, I took it to repair and now it works fine (just FYI, in case it has something to do).
A couple of months ago, I formatted my pc.

I've had this problem for more than a year, I just thought it was because I had too much files, but I don't think so since it's too much.

I've downloaded "Process Explorer" to monitor what was going on.
Opened a game, 100% cpu used by the game, and then, the DPC (Defferred Procedure Calls) increased its usage to 15/20% every couple of minutes, causing the freezings on my game.
DPC's always remain at 0% usage when I'm not playing or I don't have more than 2 internet explorer windows open...

I've tried a couple of tips (msconfig removing some services/process, etc...) but it didn't worked.

Anyway... is this normal? in case it is, sorry ;) , in case it's not, I'd really apretiate any help on this :)

Here's my Hijackthis log (after doing all of the previous steps listed on the 1st time posters topic -spybot, viruses, win updates, test....)

If this can't be solved with anti malware options, and it has to do with hardware, I'd also appretiate any help on that field...

Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
RAM 256Mb
NVidia 64Mb...
