I think i have a corrupted file

i havent had internet for 6 months..now i have bellsouth and i cant download anything..it gives me a 1152:error extracting message..please help me

have you updated computer since its been awhile

also check to see what version of windows installer you got

it should be windows installer 3.1
if you dont have it you can get that get it here

then do the following and let this run cause it will go through 5 steps

do not disturb this
Go to Start, Run, type chkdsk /f /r then press enter, type Y to confirm for next boot, press enter then reboot.

when i got back online i had 25 updates, i updated my internet explorer, and yes i have 3.1...i think my security controls in internet options are out of wack, i really just dont know where to begin

go back to your internet options and put all your settings at there default setting

i done that check disk and it said file type NTSF and volume clean? is there any way to change the location in the download manager to where the files go...that is where i am having my problems...it says unable to create temp. folder
