I don't know what happened, but it started messing up this morning. I downloaded it and had it instaled it on my mname for a while now. This morning my sister went on under her name and it started up automatically and tried to install itself. Everytime she canceled the install it would restart it self and try to install again. I logged her off and went on under my name, went to add/remove programs and got rid of it. Then I looked on the harddrive and still saw the folder their and I tried to delet it, but I keep getting the messang that the files contained in the folder are being used be another person or program. i tried pressing Alt + Ctrl + Del to try and see if I can end whatever is still running, but the screen that is supposed to pop up isn't. I tried going onto everybod's name to end limewire from running, but it wasn't running on anybody's name. Can somebody help me?

I disabled all the startup services, but i can't remove limewire. It's not on the add/remove programs list and I still can't delete the folder on my C drive.

Limewire is still trying to install itself whenever I reboot the computer.

Items in blue which are underlined are clickable to give more information about the process

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, right click any file then click delete, confirm delete

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc defragmenter

If you are having trouble with progs in the back ground that run and "claim" a piece of the action when you try to unload something...and it just won't budge, try this wee free prog [86kB] [they like donations] :help:

 ...I depend on it...STOPIT! by McDev. Go to http://www.McDev.com [McDaniel Development]

Install>Continue>double click on the program process to kill, or use the first icon to the left.

Usually, the prog at the bottom of the list is where you start, and then move toward the top.

But be careful, understand what progs do what...before doing anything...otherwise, you will shut yourself down and need to reboot to get back to square one.

This is a prog that is only to be used while operating freely in Windows, and you just want to kill a prog that is bothering you or preventing another prog from shutting down...as in the case earlier in this discourse.

I know that we all rely on hijackthis for our bread and butter, but sometimes it also does not kill the process fast enough, nor does Process Explorer...the just don't measure up to my needs...so StopIt helps me a lot... :whistling:

P.S. I keep all of my "necessaries" in the task bar for immediate access, so I don't need to go hunting for them in obscure spots in an emergency.
