[Jikky]

I've been hit by spyware, viruses, and trojans. When I try to run some applications I get a popup saying "Dynamo requires the use of the SHADOW file. Please locate the file SHADOW to continue." I can't run some of my programs because of this.

I have spyware blaster, adaware se, zone alarm, ewido, spybot s&d, and avg free. I have used the steps that have been provided to get rid of spyware, viruses, etc I am now getting the popup "Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe' Make sure you type the name......

Also things starting when I log on like AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Epson Ink monitor, PalmOne registration, etc. I don't want those to start when I log on. I only want them to run when I click on their icon or go to them in program files.

The file is a log file with audio, visual, and text subfolders. There's .dat files in the visual and text folder. Audio is empty and text is very small at 299KB. Visual is 807MB. I have no idea what it is.

I disabled Zone Alarm and also ensured windows firewall wasn't running. I still got the same message.

can you see if the file csrss.exe is in there and send it to me please
send it to iamdon77"at"yahoo dot com ( replace the "at" with @ and replace the dot with . )
can you also see if you can find
C:\WINDOWS\system32\scvhost.exe
notice the letter c and v are switched from the legit svchost file and if you find it send it along to me as well please

Lets go ahead and get the other stuff we know is bad cleaned up

• I see that you have Spybot's TeaTimer running. While this is a very helpful tool to protect against hijackers, it can also interfere with HijackThis fixes. So please disable TeaTimer by doing the following:
• Open Spybot-S&D
• Go to the Mode menu, and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected
• On the left hand side, choose Tools -> Resident
• Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts
• Restart your computer.
• Be sure you enable TeaTimer once we have cleaned your system.

I couldn't send the file through email. It froze up. I didnt find scvhost.exe, but i did find sv_chost.exe. I followed the other steps for Spybot and made the fixes in HiJackThis. I won't be back on the computer til about 11pm. Here is my new log:

Back in normal mode

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan

• Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
• A new window will open...click the Check Now button
• Enter your Country
• Enter your State/Province
• Enter your e-mail address and click send
• Select either Home User or Company
• Click the big Scan Now button
• If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
• It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
• When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
• When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

I found that I had a problem with a program I have on my computer. It's Native Instruments Dynamo- a music program. Another music program, Cubase SX 3, won't load because Dynamo need the SHADOW file. Whatever that is. I just want to remove Dynamo from my compter, but on search I can't even find dynamo installed. I also have another Native Instruments program Elektrik Piano I can't uninstall, because it could not open INSTALL.LOG.

I found the files that kept my cubase program from running. It was under DynExtB.dll. I deleted that whole folder and my program starts normally now. Those are just music program files so it won't harm my computer.

The computer is running normally again.
I did set the programs where they don't start using winkey+r...

Everything is great, but I uninstalled some software to get the other programs running. I'm gonna reinstall it and make sure everything runs fine. If so I'll be good to go. I won't be back on til this evening tho. I'll give u an update then.

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.4 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, A handy tool to do this
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs from changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)1. Turn off System Restore.On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
