I got video card issue too, i am switcheing from a 16mb AGP Vodoo 3 3000, to a 64 mb ATI 64 mb PCI 7500 Raidon, and it just don't work, if i hook y monitor up to the new video card, my monitor stays in standby mode, any help or segestions would be greatly appreaceted.

When you installed your new video card, did you uninstall the video driver for your previous card? Did you install a new driver from the CD supplied with your new card?

aye, that i did, but then, it screwed up my whole computer,m and it took me 2 days to get the old video card working again,( lots and lots of safe mode time), but i don't think that is the problem, when i tried ot boot it again, after i got my vodoo working in ther agian, i pulkled it really quick and tried ot boot the ATI, and it did not work, so i put the voodoo back in and it did hte same thing as the ATI, the CPU beeped once, then 1 3 second beep, then 2 quick beeps, and then i shut it off, and then , i foudn i didn't push it in all the way, so, i descided ot try the ATI again, and i looked, and saw it wasn't amaking compleate connection witht all the PCI slot, so, i had to bend the part that you put the screw in to, and i got it to go in all the way, and it still did the same thing

Okay, here's a couple of possibilities:

1) When you have the ATI card installed, does the computer boot? (Do you get any beep codes, can you see the hard drive light blinking, hear fans, etc?) If it's not booting, your power supply may not be providing enough "juice" to boot the system with this new power hungry card.

2) One long beep, two short, while booting indicate a video adaptor failure. I suspect its not making good contact. While the power is OFF, try cleaning the video card contacts on your motherboard with a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Also, inspect for any bent or broken contacts. Also, when installing the any video card, press firmly to ensure the card is fully seated.

ok, well, i don;t know if it matters but it beeps once short, 1 long, then 2 short, if htatmakes a differnece, andi have not tried cleanign the ocntacts on the motherboard, i shall try that, thank you for your assistance, i will let you know if it works or not

Do you know the make and model of the computer and/or motherboard? Then we can tell for sure what these beeps indicate.

my compuet is a custom build, and the mother board is a Asus P2-99, but i got a segestion that the buss speed is too slow for the card
